While attending programs such as the Skidmore Jazz Institute and the Interlochen Summer Program, Zach played in groups led by Pat LaBarbera and trumpet legend Terrel Stafford. He has also studied with drummers such as Eric Harland, Kendrick Scott, Joe Porcaro and Johnny Carson Show alum, Ed Shaugnessy. By the age of 16 he had already played legendary Los Angeles venues such as The Key Club, The Roxy, The Whiskey, and The Troubadour. While attending Skidmore College as a Music Major and English Minor, Zach's hobby became realized as a profession when several YouTube videos of himself practicing started receiving tens of thousands of views as well as an immense amount of praise from within the drummer community.
Upon graduating college, Zach moved to New York City and began his professional career. While working at Eusonia Studios under Grammy-Award Winning Producer Scott Jacoby, Zach played on many major label recordings, as well as produced and remixed all types of projects. Zach’s production work has been used by the likes of Juliette Katz (AZ/Universal France) and Kris Allen (2009 American Idol winner). He continues to produce and remix for various artists while still being involved in many different bands and projects around New York City.
